05 Jul Figg & Prowle Cleans Up at the 2025-2026 TICA Year-End Awards
We just opened the final year-end rankings from The International Cat Association (TICA), and the 2025-2026 show season turned out to be one for the record books here at Figg & Prowle. Six of our Siberians — and one very special household pet — finished the year with national or regional specialty rankings, a result we attribute as much to their temperaments as to their type and color.
Show season is long: weekends of travel, early mornings, and a lot of hotel-room cuddles. These cats handled it with the steady, people-oriented temperament that makes Siberians worth breeding in the first place. We are proud of every one of them.
Kitten of the Year
RW CH Figgandprowle Tip the Scales took the big one: the Northeast Region’s 2026 Best Siberian Kitten of the Year. She was out for just two weekends, debuting in New England at just a few days older than four months, then taking a huge Best in Show at the California Regional later in the season. She has the balance, coat, and personality we look for, and apparently the judges agreed.
Brown (Black) Mackerel Torbie Siberians
This color/pattern class was especially kind to us. We claimed both the first and second spots in the Northeast Region:
2026 Best Brown (Black) Mackerel Torbie Siberian of the Year
2026 Second Best Brown (Black) Mackerel Torbie Siberian of the Year
Having two home-bred cats finish one-two in the same class is not something we take for granted. It points to consistency in our breeding decisions, which is exactly what we are trying to build.
Red Mackerel Tabby
2026 Best Red Mackerel Tabby Siberian of the Year, Northeast Region
Red girls can be show-stoppers when the color and pattern are clean, and our girl Doughloris made us very proud.
Cream Silver Classic Tabby
2026 Best Cream Silver Classic Tabby Siberian of the Year, Northeast Region
The cream silver classic pattern is one of the rarest and most demanding colors in the breed. Banana wowed multiple judges, getting comments like “I can’t believe she’s just a year old! She is already PERFECT.”
Household Pet
2026 Seventh Best Household Pet of the Year, Northeast Region
And because show success is not limited to our breed-show cats, we want to give a huge round of applause to our fantastic D-Day. She finished her TICA breed championship as a sweet young thing, and ever since has been telling us that she wants another piece of it – when the travel crates come out, she will crawl in them and refuse to come out! We finally caved and she came back out in Household Pet as an adult. In just two weekends, she Supremed and earned two Reserve Best in Shows.
What This Means for Our Kitten Families
These awards are not just ribbons. They are independent confirmation that the cats in our breeding program meet the Siberian breed standard, show correct color and pattern, and have the temperament to handle the pressure of a show hall. That same foundation — health, type, and temperament — is what we pass on to the kittens we raise for pet families.

Thank you to the judges, our fellow exhibitors, and the TICA stewards who make these seasons possible. And thank you to these cats, who made getting up before dawn every weekend feel worthwhile.
